Job summary

Our client is seeking a Principal Go Engineer to join a distributed data platform team. You will own architecture, performance, and reliability for large production systems running on Kubernetes across cloud and on‑prem environments.

The role emphasizes hands‑on design, leadership, and collaboration with DevOps, product teams and domain experts to deliver scalable data processing capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years commercial Go programming experience.
• Experience in senior technical roles (Staff/Principal/Tech Lead).
• Proven ownership of complex production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services in Go.
• Build high‑performance data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Design event‑driven architecture using Kafka.
• Define service boundaries and data flows between components.
• Make architectural decisions for scalability, availability and DR.
• Lead and mentor engineers across multiple teams.
