Job summary

Appliscale sp. z o.o. in Kraków is seeking a backend engineer focused on Go to design, implement, and maintain a scalable microservices platform.

You will build and test backend functionalities, deploy on AWS, and collaborate with product teams to deliver robust features across continents. The role requires 3-5 years in production software development with Go, strong knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), REST APIs, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of production software development experience in a commercial software engineering role using Golang.
• Solid hands-on experience in Typescript.
• Owned or co-owned infrastructure for a production service (on-call, capacity planning, incident response).
• Experience using Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with AWS/GCP and Terraform / CloudFormation.
• Expertise of REST APIs.
• Strong hands-on experience of CI/CD processes.
• Computer Science degree.
• Comfortable with AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor etc.).
• Able to work with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and/or Kanban.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-motivation, proactive attitude.
• Proficiency in English, it's our daily business language.

Responsibilities

• Designing, writing, testing functionalities for a backend system written in Golang (Go)
• Deploying and maintaining microservices in AWS using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Debugging and maintaining system on production used by consumers across multiple continents
• Scoping and assessing the complexity of features
• Participating in sprint planning, daily sprints and meetings with product owners for grooming new features
• Collaborating with other team members and teams who depend on functionalities that you develop
