VM.PL is an established IT software house delivering tailor-made digital solutions for international clients. We seek a Project Manager with Product Owner skills to guide strategic fixed-price/fixed-scope projects within our Product Management & Advisory area.

You will work with clients in the DACH region, Poland, and the United States, supporting decision-making and delivering IT solutions. Responsibilities include SDLC delivery, backlog management, workshops, and pre-sales activities.

Qualifikationen

• German, English and Polish language skills enabling independent workshops and documentation.
• Minimum 5 years of IT project experience as Product Owner, PM, or BA with delivery and budget responsibility.
• IT knowledge backed by relevant education or hands-on IT project experience.
• Ability to lead IT projects and discuss solution options credibly with clients and technical teams.
• Experience with product backlogs, user stories, epics, and requirements.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to create process diagrams and mock-ups.
• Interest or experience in manufacturing, logistics or industrial projects.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with a customer-oriented mindset.
• Valid Category B driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
• Interest in AI technologies and using AI tools in day-to-day work.
• Experience in pre-sales or sales processes is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Taking responsibility for project delivery across the full SDLC from concept to deployment.
• Plan and manage scope, timeline and budget with the iron triangle.
• Facilitate client workshops in German and conduct Product Discovery sessions.
• Create and manage the product backlog and define acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with development teams, clarify requirements during sprints, provide domain support.
• Prepare project and product documentation including SOWs and functional specs.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and scope changes, report status to stakeholders.
• Support pre-sales activities: meetings, requirements gathering, and proposal preparation.
• Propose improvements and AI-enabled solutions across projects.

We are looking for a Project Manager with Product Owner skills to support the development and delivery of strategic fixed-price/fixed-scope projects within our Product Management & Advisory area. This role combines hands-on product ownership with responsibility for delivering projects within an agreed scope, budget, and timeline.

You will work closely with clients from the DACH region, Poland, and the United States, supporting them in product-related decision-making, defining strategic directions, and successfully delivering IT solutions. Beyond managing ongoing projects, you will also contribute to pre-sales activities by participating in client meetings, gathering and analyzing requirements, and supporting the preparation of proposals and scopes for future projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for project delivery across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – from concept and implementation through testing and deployment
• Planning and managing project scope, timeline, and budget, taking full responsibility for the project "iron triangle"
• Conducting business needs analysis and independently facilitating client workshops, primarily in German, including Product Discovery sessions
• Creating and strategically managing the product backlog, including breaking down epics into user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria
• Collaborating closely with development teams, including clarifying requirements during sprints, providing ongoing domain support, and validating delivered solutions
• Preparing project and product documentation, including solution concepts, Statements of Work, and functional specifications
• Monitoring project progress and proactively managing risks, dependencies, and scope changes
• Managing relationships with business stakeholders and regularly reporting on project status, progress, and results
• Supporting pre-sales activities for future projects – participating in sales meetings, identifying and gathering client requirements, helping define the proposed solution and project scope, and contributing to the preparation of offers and Statements of Work
• Proactively proposing improvements, optimizations, and innovative solutions, including the use of AI technologies

Requirements

• Very good command of German (near-native, C1/C2), English (B2/C1), and Polish (B1+), enabling independent workshops and work with project documentation
• At least 5 years of experience in IT projects as a Product Owner, Project Manager, or Business Analyst, including responsibility for delivery and budget
• IT knowledge supported by relevant education or hands-on experience in IT projects
• Ability to understand technical aspects well enough to lead IT projects, discuss solution options credibly with clients, and co-create solution concepts with technical teams
• Practical experience with product backlogs, user stories, epics, and functional and non-functional requirements
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to create solution concepts, such as process diagrams and mock-ups
• Experience or strong interest in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial projects
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a customer-oriented mindset
• Valid Category B driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
• Interest in AI technologies and experience using AI tools in day-to-day work
• Experience in pre-sales or sales processes, especially requirements gathering, solution definition, or proposal preparation, will be an asset
