Job summary

LKQ Europe, part of the LKQ Corporation, invites an experienced HR professional to join its European HR team in Katowice. The role blends strategic and operational HR across 21 countries, reporting to the European HR Business Partner.

It offers a flexible hybrid model with 3 days per week from home. As an HR Specialist Europe you will act as a first point of contact for day-to-day people matters, support HR processes, and collaborate with managers across the region on workforce insights,

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in an HR Advisor/Generalist role.
  • Strong understanding of employee relations, performance management and lifecycle processes.
  • Experience supporting managers in a business-facing HR role.
  • Experience with HR data, reports and workforce analytics.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced HR professional to join our European HR team in a newly created role. Based in Katowice with a flexible hybrid model (3 days per week working from home), you'll work closely with the European HR Business Partner, supporting both strategic and operational people initiatives across 21 countries in Europe.

Role overview:

Reporting to the European HR Business Partner, HR Specialist Europe acts as a first point of contact for day-to-day people matters and supports the delivery of core HR processes across a geographically dispersed stakeholder group. The role coordinates people processes, supports employee relations activities, prepares workforce insights and contributes to the successful delivery of HR initiatives and projects.

What would be your responsibilities?
  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on routine HR queries across the assigned European functions, escalating complex or high-risk matters where appropriate.
  • Partner with the European HR Business Partner to deliver people priorities and support the execution of HR strategies across the supported functions.
  • Provide practical guidance to managers on company policies, performance management, employee relations matters and other day-to-day people topics.
  • Coordinate annual performance review, talent review and succession planning processes, including preparation of materials, consolidation of data and tracking of actions.
  • Prepare, maintain and analyse HR reports and workforce data from HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and providing insights.
  • Partner with managers, Talent Acquisition and local HR teams on recruitment, onboarding, internal moves and offboarding activities.
  • Support organisational design, restructuring and change initiatives through data preparation, project coordination, documentation and communication support.
  • Prepare presentations, reports and materials for leadership meetings, talent reviews, succession discussions and organisational review sessions.
  • Drive follow-up of engagement survey actions, leadership commitments and people plans across the supported functions.
  • Build effective relationships with managers and HR colleagues across Europe and contribute to a proactive, responsive and business-focused HR service.
What do you need?
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist, HR Specialist or similar role.
  • Good understanding of employee relations, performance management, recruitment and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate professionally and effectively with both employees and managers.
  • Experience supporting managers in a business-facing HR role.
  • Experience working with HR systems and preparing HR reports and workforce data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in an international or matrix organisation would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices would be advantageous.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider HR team.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgement.
  • English language skills at B2 level or above.
