Job summary

Tickmill is seeking a Head of Projects to lead and scale our project management team across the organization. You will establish governance, drive delivery excellence, and partner with the COO/CIO to translate strategic objectives into executable roadmaps.

You will oversee complex project portfolios in a fast-growing FinTech environment, manage budgets, resources, and risks, and mentor cross-functional delivery teams to achieve measurable outcomes. English fluency required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Project Management with 3+ years in a Head of Projects role.
• Experience managing complex portfolios in technology-driven environments.
• FinTech/Financial services or regulated industries a plus.
• Strong governance, budgeting, risk management and SDLC understanding.
• Excellent stakeholder management at executive/board level.

What does the role look like?

The Head of Projects will have the opportunity to:

• Lead and develop the Project managers team, establishing project governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
• Act as the right-hand person of the COO / CIO and assist with progressing and managing the team’s activities
• Oversee the successful delivery of strategic projects and programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, budgets, timelines, and resource availability.
• Drive continuous improvement of project delivery standards, tools, and methodologies, with a strong focus on Agile and hybrid delivery models.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management to Project Managers and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate strategic objectives into executable project roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
• Establish and maintain executive-level reporting, ensuring transparency on project health, risks, dependencies, and resource utilization.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, executive leadership, and third-party vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and delivery excellence across the organization.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Project Management, with at least 3 years as a Head of Projects or similar role
• Proven track record of managing complex project portfolios and leading cross-functional teams in technology-driven environments.
• Experience within FinTech, Financial Services, Gaming or highly regulated industries is considered a strong advantage.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Strong expertise in project governance, portfolio management, resource planning, budgeting, and risk management.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and technology project delivery.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at executive and board level.
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence or others
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-growth environment while driving strategic change and operational excellence.
