Qualifications

• Requires tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.

• Solid experience interpreting architectural, structural & civil drawings.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the estimation process from drawings to final submission, including take-offs, costing, and tender submission.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our estimating team. You will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate cost estimates for formwork, concrete & reo packages across diverse projects (civil, residential, commercial, industrial). The role demands strong technical skill, excellent knowledge of formwork and concrete systems, and capability to interpret drawings, manage tender submissions, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• T ake full ownership of the estimation process: from receipt of drawings/plans, through take-offs, quantity surveying, material & labour costing, to final submission.
  
• Review and verify civil, commercial & structural drawings/specs; identify scope & risk; clarify with design engineers/subcontractors.
  
• Maintain and develop cost databases (materials, labour, plant, subcontractors) relevant to formwork & concrete.
  
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, risk assessments, allowances, variations, and contingency.
  
• Engage with suppliers/subcontractors to obtain quotes (formwork systems, concrete, reinforcement etc.), negotiate rates.
  
• Coordinate with project management, operations, engineering/design teams to ensure the estimates reflect practical constructability and site realities.
  
• Monitor tender pipelines; track submissions; provide recommendations on tender/contract strategy.
  
• Provide input into schedule development & project planning; ensure that estimating aligns with program durations, availability of resources.
  
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, value engineering.
  
• Contribute to company margin & profitability targets via accurate estimating, risk mitigation, and strategic input.
  

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
  
• Minimum of 5-8 years estimating experience, ideally in formwork, concrete, or structural works. Senior level.
  
• Proficiency in software like Bluebeam is a must
  
• Strong technical knowledge of formwork systems, concrete engineering, reinforcement & structural concrete behaviour.
  
• Solid experience interpreting architectural, structural & civil drawin
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and spreadsheet skills; proficiency in take-off software/tools.
  
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
