Job description

Location: Europe – preferably Poland, Czech Republic or Romania.

DTE is a fast-growing deep-tech company transforming how the metals industry controls and optimises its production. Our real-time melt chemistry technology gives aluminium producers immediate insight into their process, unlocking operational efficiency, higher yields and more sustainable production.

As DTE expands its international operations, we are looking for a Field Service Specialist based in Europe to support future customer deployments and help establish our field service capabilities in the region.

This is an opportunity to join a growing international team, work hands-on with innovative industrial technology and play an important role in building DTE's presence in the European market.

Position Summary

The Field Service Specialist will be part of DTE's Service, Production and Delivery team, supporting the installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of DTE's industrial analytical equipment as new customer deployments are established.

You will work closely with customers during installation, start-up and service visits, configuring equipment to meet operational requirements, training operators and providing remote and on-site technical support.

The role also involves close collaboration with DTE's Engineering and Service teams in Iceland and internationally, contributing practical field experience to product improvements and the development of service procedures.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, understands demanding industrial environments and takes ownership of solving technical challenges.

This is a hands-on technical role in demanding industrial environments involving heat, noise, dust and heavy machinery, requiring a strong commitment to safety, quality and reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, commission and service DTE's analytical equipment at customer sites as new deployments are established.
  • Ensure installations and service work meet DTE's standards for quality, safety and reliability.
  • Configure equipment, perform functional testing and train customer operators.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment, providing both remote and on-site technical support.
  • Assess customer site readiness ahead of installation, including power, utilities, access, lifting arrangements and safety requirements.
  • Participate in an on-call rota for technical support as required.
  • Collaborate with DTE's Engineering and Service teams to identify technical issues, implement improvements and support product development.
  • Contribute to the development of service procedures, checklists, spare parts lists and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Help establish and develop DTE's field service capabilities in Europe as the company expands into the region.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in field service, equipment assembly or technical support involving electronic or industrial equipment.
  • A degree or vocational qualification in engineering, electronics, electrical technology or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting automated control systems and industrial equipment.
  • Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage technical challenges in the field.
  • Comfortable working in demanding industrial environments, including foundries and aluminium production facilities.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of Polish, Czech, Romanian, German, Spanish, or other European languages is an advantage.
  • Valid driving licence and passport.
  • Legal authorisation to work or provide services in the country of residence.

Experience in the metals industry, foundries or industrial automation, as well as electrical qualifications or certifications, would be an advantage.

Location & Travel

Employment Type: We are open to both direct employment and independent contractor arrangements, depending on the candidate's location, experience and the most suitable contractual setup.

Location: Preferably Poland, Czech Republic or Romania. This is a home-based field service position, requiring regular international travel to support customer deployments, installations, training and technical service activities.

The role is expected to involve approximately 50% travel, depending on project schedules and customer requirements. Travel will support DTE's international operations and future customer deployments in Europe, with visits to DTE headquarters in Iceland for training, product familiarisation and collaboration with Engineering and other teams.

The successful candidate should live within convenient driving distance of a major international airport.

Why DTE?

We are past proving that the technology works. DTE's systems are already operating in production environments, and we are now scaling from individual installations to plant-wide deployments.

We are solving a fundamental blind spot in one of the world's largest industries: metals producers cannot optimise what they cannot measure in real time.

Our technology provides the foundation for real-time process control, higher recycling rates, lower emissions and the future of autonomous metals manufacturing.

As we expand into Europe, you will have the opportunity to help build our regional service capabilities from the ground up, while working closely with an experienced international team.

Our core values are purpose, excellence and empowerment. We look for people who are driven, resilient and motivated by building technology with real industrial impact.

We encourage people of all genders to apply. DTE is committed to being an inclusive workplace where employees feel empowered, supported and able to do their best work.

The application deadline is 31 October 2026.
