Job summary

Seargin Ltd in Poland is seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead a software team and oversee critical platform work. You will plan with Product Owner and Tech Lead, decompose epics, and maintain a healthy backlog while communicating risks clearly.

You will review designs, govern migrations, ensure documentation and audit readiness, and drive CI/CD reliability, testing, and incident handling. You will coach engineers and coordinate across multiple stakeholders and vendors.

• Experience managing a software engineering team with direct line management responsibility.
• Software engineering background with credibility to review code and reason about distributed systems.
• Experience delivering in regulated environments emphasizing correctness and auditability.
• Demonstrated ownership of difficult-to-reverse changes with risk management.
• Evidence of improving engineering practices beyond product delivery.
• Strong written communication for plans, decisions, and defect records.
• Ability to lead, coach, and collaborate across product and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and sequence work with Product Owner and Tech Lead, break epics into deliverables, maintain backlog, report risks clearly.
• Review designs and significant changes, challenge long-term cost decisions, assess technical complexity across the stack.
• Own migrations, environment rebuilds, and irreversible changes with runbooks, verification gates, rollback plans, and go/no-go decisions.
• Ensure requirements, validation evidence, and defects are documented, traceable, and audit-ready.
• Own branch and review policies, CI/CD reliability, testing, DoD, and incident/defect handling.
• Monitor reliability, security, and technical debt; set priorities and acceptable risks.
• Line manage and coach engineers; set expectations, give feedback, hire when needed, address performance issues.
• Work across Product, QA, Security, Platform, Infrastructure, and external vendors to align regulatory and engineering requirements.

Requirements

• Experience managing a software engineering team with direct line management responsibility

  • Software engineering background with current technical credibility and the ability to review code, understand infrastructure, and reason about distributed systems
