Job summary

The Analyst in the Evaluation Sustainability Department (ESD) at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will support the Energy team in Warsaw, delivering environmental and social appraisal and monitoring across projects. You will help assess ESP compliance, climate and nature risks, and green finance attribution while working with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires strong analytical skills, English proficiency, and ability to work independently and within a team.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental and/or social sciences, economics, engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of environmental and social risks.
• Familiarity with international environmental, social and climate standards (EBRD ESP, IFC PS, CSRD, TCFD, TNFD, SSB).
• Understanding of financing instruments and processes is an advantage.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Support ESP compliance assessment, E&S risk impacts and opportunities; climate and nature risks; Paris Alignment; and green finance attribution.
• Conduct ESP-related research, document reviews, develop methodologies, monitor outputs and draft publications.
• Coordinate meetings and events for ESD/Bank staff when required.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders at various levels under guidance of senior staff.
• Contribute to process improvements and data management within ESD.
• Work in line with the Bank’s Behavioural Competencies and Corporate Behaviours.
