Job summary

Volvo Cars Kraków Tech Hub seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to develop MCU firmware for power management and infotainment peripherals in next-gen EVs.

You will build pytest-based integration tests on HiL setups, write embedded C/C++ code when needed, and collaborate with firmware, test, and architecture teams in an Agile environment.

Strong Python skills, test automation mindset, and experience with CI/CD are valued to accelerate development in a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Embedded software experience with MCU (ARM Cortex-M preferred), memory limits, and peripherals.
• Strong Python skills with experience in pytest or similar test frameworks.
• Experience with test automation and HiL testing.
• Ability to write/maintain embedded C/C++ and read firmware code.
• Familiarity with CAN, UART, I2C, or SPI protocols.
• Familiarity with RTOS concepts; SafeRTOS exposure is a plus.
• Familiarity with embedded toolchains (IAR, GCC) or debugging tools (ST-Link).
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Interest in scripting for flashing, automation, and tooling.
• Willingness to work primarily in Python with embedded knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain pytest-based integration tests for HiL setups.
• Leverage embedded background to validate firmware functionality and test coverage.
• Contribute to tooling, flashing scripts, and the embedded C/C++ codebase when needed.
• Collaborate with firmware, test, and architecture teams in an Agile environment.
