Job summary

SoftServe is seeking an experienced QA/Testing Engineer to drive automated testing strategies for embedded and hardware-based IoT solutions. You will design scalable test frameworks, validate MCU-based systems, and collaborate across firmware, hardware, DevOps, and cloud teams to accelerate delivery and ensure product reliability.

The role requires deep expertise in Python (pytest), HIL testing, and experience with Zephyr RTOS, Docker, and Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded software testing for hardware-based systems.
• Advanced Python expertise with pytest, fixtures, parametrization, and reusable test libraries.
• Hands-on with Zephyr RTOS configurations and testing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve automated test frameworks for embedded IoT products, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Drive end-to-end validation of MCU-based systems, including firmware functionality and hardware interaction.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, DevOps, and cloud teams to improve product quality and delivery pipelines.
• Develop automated tests in Python using pytest and reusable libraries.
• Implement and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing environments and investigate complex hardware/software interaction issues.
• Validate communication protocols and connectivity flows, including CoAP, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and device state transitions.
• Integrate automated test suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines with test reporting and release validation.
• Analyze failures across firmware, infrastructure, networking, containers, and hardware to provide root-cause analyses.
• Improve test reliability by reducing flaky tests and improving observability and productivity.
• Mentor team members on testing practices and quality engineering standards.
