Qualifications

• Experience in technical support environments (L2/service desk).
• Experience writing automation in Python.

• Understanding of FinOps: tagging, cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

Job Opportunity: Cloud FinOps Specialist (Cloudability / Python)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Cloud FinOps Specialist to join a team responsible for the tooling behind multi-cloud cost management. The team makes sure that spend coming from several public cloud providers is correctly collected, processed and presented to teams and senior stakeholders across a large, globally distributed organisation.

This is a technical and delivery-focused role centred on the cost management platform itself: keeping it running, improving it, and automating the repetitive parts in Python. The emphasis is on tooling, FinOps processes, automation and stakeholder engagement rather than building infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day administration of the cloud cost management platform: user onboarding, access management, ticket resolution and feature configuration
• Maintain metadata, budgets and forecasts so that cost data stays accurate and usable
• Build and maintain automation in Python, deployed as applications on Google Cloud Run
• Identify processes worth automating, such as ticket handling, access provisioning and scheduled jobs
• Keep documentation current, including runbooks and technical guides
• Provide regular updates to users and senior stakeholders on service status, known issues and cloud consumption trends
• Remediate security findings in line with agreed processes and guidelines
• Work with internal engineering teams and the platform vendor on fixes and enhancements, and run trainings for end users

Requirements

• Proven experience in technical support environments (L2 and/or service desk), covering tickets, access requests and tool configuration
• Experience writing automation in Python, including applications running in production and used by others
• Working knowledge of Google Cloud, or of AWS or Azure, including their billing and cost reporting services
• Understanding of FinOps and cloud cost management concepts such as tagging, cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting and reporting; experience with a dedicated platform like Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth or Flexera is a strong advantage
• Solid grasp of cloud security fundamentals: IAM, least privilege, secure configuration and auditability
• Experience in client-facing work, with comfortable communication towards business stakeholders and the ability to run trainings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large volumes of billing data
• Very good command of English, minimum B2, and experience working in globally distributed teams
