Job summary

Square One Resources is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join a global technology organisation. You will design automated cloud infrastructure, develop Terraform modules, and manage Kubernetes clusters across AWS, GCP or Azure, with a focus on security, reliability and cost governance.

In an Agile/Scrum environment, you will collaborate with Cloud Architects, DevOps and software teams to automate deployment, enhance observability, and drive continuous improvement of cloud

Qualifications

• Experience across Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps or Software Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Experience with Kubernetes in cloud environments.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience developing and maintaining Terraform modules.
• Strong Helm and Docker experience.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
• Strong Python, Bash or Linux shell scripting.
• Experience with cloud IAM and network security.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus or Datadog.
• Understanding of DevSecOps and automated security controls.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

• Automate containerised infrastructure using Docker and Helm.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
• Automate infrastructure deployment across development, QA, staging and production.
• Support cloud networking, IAM, security and resource configuration.
• Implement infrastructure monitoring, logging and alerting.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and production issues.
• Support disaster recovery and infrastructure resilience testing.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Apply DevSecOps and Security by Design principles throughout infrastructure automation.
• Work within Agile/Scrum engineering teams and contribute to technical design discussions.

Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Location: Europe | Remote / Hybrid
Contract Duration: 12 months
Rate: €250 - 300 per day

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join a global technology organisation's engineering team.

This role will focus on the automation, provisioning, management and optimisation of cloud infrastructure, supporting secure and scalable environments across major cloud platforms.

You will work closely with Cloud Architects, DevOps Engineers and Software Development teams to automate infrastructure deployment, improve reliability and reduce manual intervention across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules for scalable and repeatable infrastructure provisioning
• Manage and optimise Kubernetes infrastructure, including EKS, GKE or AKS
• Automate containerised infrastructure using Docker and Helm
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins
• Automate infrastructure deployment across development, QA, staging and production
• Support cloud networking, IAM, security and resource configuration
• Implement infrastructure monitoring, logging and alerting
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and production issues
• Support disaster recovery and infrastructure resilience testing

Essential Skills & Experience
