Job summary

Sword Services Greece is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our multinational team. You will support EU institutions and private sector clients, implementing and developing cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

The role involves provisioning environments, automation, and 2nd-line support for development teams. Ideal candidates will have a BSc in IT/CS, strong scripting skills, and deep DevOps/IaC knowledge, with English fluency and experience across Linux and Microsoft systems.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
• Technical knowledge of one or more enterprise Cloud technology services: Azure/AWS/Google Cloud.
• Experience in building a range of Cloud services including compute, storage, network.
• Excellent scripting skills and programming experience: PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Go, Bash, Windows command prompt and OO languages.
• Demonstrable Linux administration and scripting experience (Red Hat preferred).
• Basic knowledge in administering Microsoft systems.
• Deep knowledge of DevOps and IaC concepts.
• Knowledge of Cloud security and compliance tools.
• Experience collaborating with multiple support groups.
• Experience with ITIL-based change and release management processes.
• Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Administering and monitoring of enterprise Cloud environments (subscriptions, identities, resource management, automation).
• Monitoring and reporting on resource utilization and consumption related to the Cloud.
• Preparing, updating and maintaining reports and workflows.
• Preparing, updating and maintaining policies, guidelines and SOPs.
• Provisioning and de-provisioning of development environments and DevOps projects.
• Providing 2nd line support to Frontex application teams regarding Cloud Services.

About the role...

We are currently seeking an Cloud Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a multinational environment on a multitude of tasks supporting our business in implementing and developing solutions for large EU and international institutions and private sector companies in Greece and abroad.

What you will do...

• Administering and monitoring of enterprise Cloud environments (including subscriptions, identities, resource management, automation of processes and tasks).
• Monitoring and reporting on resource utilization and consumption related to the Cloud.
• Preparing, updating and maintaining reports and workflows.
• Preparing, updating and maintaining policies, guidelines and SOPs.
• Provisioning and de-provisioning of development environments and DevOps projects.
• Providing 2nd line support to Frontex application development teams in regards of Cloud Services and coordinating with 3rd line of support.

Technical Skills required...

• BSc's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another relevant field.

• Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and scripting (preferably Red Hat).
• Basic knowledge in administering Microsoft systems.
• Deep knowledge of DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-a-Service concepts and techniques.
• Knowledge of Cloud security and compliance (e.g., Cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools).
• Experience in collaborating with multiple support groups.
• Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL based change management, configuration management and release management processes.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Certifications required....

• Equivalent alternative certification recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority).
