Job summary

Frontex is seeking a Cloud Engineer (IaaS) for Warsaw with a 30% remote option. The role requires 5+ years in cloud environments, strong scripting, Linux and DevOps skills, and experience with Azure/AWS/Google Cloud.

The assignment lasts 48 months, with on-site work at Frontex HQ in Warsaw and remote collaboration. Knowledge of cloud security and ITIL processes is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven cloud service experience with Azure/AWS/Google Cloud and related tooling.
• Strong scripting and automation skills across PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Go, Bash and Windows CMD.

Cloud Engineer (IaaS) (Warsaw, 30% remote) – Frontex

Profile: Cloud Engineer (IaaS) (Cloud services, Cloud environments, Monitoring, Reporting) - Level Standard.

Place of performance: service provision at Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw – 70% on-site, 30 % remote.

Duration of the mission: 48 months.

Security Clearance: Is required (required from day 45 of assignment) - CONFIDENTIEL UE/EU CONFIDENTIAL.

Minimum level of education: Level 6.

Minimum English language skills: B2.

Minimum IT relevant experience: 5 years (2 years in relevant roles).

Rate: 280€/day NWH; 365€/day EWH; 5,25€/hour OnC.

• NWH: 220 days x4 years.
• EWH: 6 days x 4 years.

Required technical certificates:

At least, the following certification is required:

• [1] Mid-level AWS/Azure/Google Cloud certification.
• Or an equivalent alternative certification recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority).

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge:

• [01] Technical knowledge of one or more enterprise Cloud technology services: Azure/AWS/Google Cloud (Identity, Networking, Compute, Storage, Web, Mobile, Containers, Databases, Analytics, AI & Machine learning).
• [02] Experience in building a range of Cloud services including compute, storage, network.
• [03] Excellent scripting skills and programming experience in the following languages: PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Go, Bash, Windows command prompt and object orientated programming languages.
• [04] Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and scripting (preferably Red Hat).
• [05] Basic knowledge in administering Microsoft systems.
• [06] Deep knowledge of DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-a-Service concepts and techniques.

Specific requirements

• [02] Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, or operating Azure Enterprise-Scale Landing Zones based on the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).

Typical tasks and responsibilities

• Administering and monitoring of enterprise Cloud environments (including subscriptions, identities, resource management, automation of processes and tasks).
• Monitoring and reporting on resource utilization and consumption related to the Cloud.
• Preparing, updating and maintaining reports and workflows.
• Preparing, updating and maintaining policies, guidelines and SOPs.
• Provisioning and de-provisioning of development environments and DevOps projects.
• Providing 2nd line support to Frontex application development teams in regards of Cloud Services and coordinating with 3rd line of support.
• Participation in coordination and project meetings.
• Other specific duties as assigned by supervisor.
