Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics Competency Center. You will design and build scalable data platforms (Data Lake / Data Platform) and develop ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure Databricks.

You will model data, optimize pipelines, collaborate with analysts and data science teams, document solutions, and mentor junior colleagues. Fluent English and Polish required; located in Poland.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data processing projects handling large data volumes.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with Spark / PySpark.
• Experience designing Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.
• Experience with Azure data services (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse).
• Fluent English and Polish.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale data processing platforms (Data Lake/Data Platform).
• Create and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources in Azure Databricks.
• Model data and tailor structures for analytics and business needs.
• Implement batch and near real-time data processing solutions.
• Monitor, optimize, and improve existing pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborate with data analysts, BI, and Data Science teams to provide data.
• Gather business requirements and propose solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for solutions.
• Mentor less experienced team members and share best practices.

Do you want to develop your skills in cloud technologies? Join our specialized unit of experts in data processing and analysis within the Data & Analytics Competency Center. We also offer development opportunities in Data Science, Big Data, and Machine Learning.

Your tasks

• Designing, building, and developing scalable and high-performance data processing platforms in Data Lake / Data Platform architecture
• Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from various sources and process it in Azure Databricks environment
• Data modeling and preparing data structures tailored to analytical and business needs
• Implementing data processing solutions (batch and/or near real-time)
• Monitoring, optimizing, and developing existing pipelines and data processing workflows
• Collaborating with data analysts, BI teams, and Data Science teams to prepare and provide data
• Gathering business requirements and proposing optimal technological solutions
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for developed solutions
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in projects related to processing and integrating large volumes of data
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python
• Experience working with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark / PySpark
• Practical experience in designing and building Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions
• Ability to build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and work with data orchestration and integration tools
• Commercial experience in Microsoft Azure cloud-based data processing projects (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric)
• Knowledge of data processing concepts in distributed environments and pipeline optimization
• Fluent communication skills in English
• Fluent Polish language proficiency required
• Must be located in Poland

Nice to have

• Experience in data migration projects from on-premise to cloud (databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)
