Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics Competency Center in Poland. You will design, build, and optimize scalable data processing platforms in Data Lake/Data Platform architectures and collaborate with analytics teams.

Requirements include 4+ years in large-volume data projects, strong SQL and Python, Spark/PySpark, and Azure cloud tooling (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric). Fluent English and Polish, on-site in Poland.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in projects processing and integrating large volumes of data.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with Spark/PySpark.
• Designing Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions.
• Ability to build ETL/ELT pipelines and use data orchestration tools.
• Hands-on Azure cloud data processing (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric).
• Fluent in English and Polish.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and developing scalable data processing platforms in Data Lake / Data Platform architecture.
• Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from various sources in Azure Databricks.
• Data modeling and structuring data for analytics and business needs.
• Implementing data processing solutions (batch and near real-time).
• Monitoring, optimizing, and developing existing pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborating with data analysts, BI teams, and Data Science teams to provide data.
• Gathering business requirements and proposing optimal solutions.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for developed solutions.
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members.

Do you want to develop your skills in cloud technologies? Join our specialized unit of experts in data processing and analysis within the Data & Analytics Competency Center. We also offer development opportunities in Data Science, Big Data, and Machine Learning.

Your tasks

• Designing, building, and developing scalable and high-performance data processing platforms in Data Lake / Data Platform architecture
• Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from various sources and process it in Azure Databricks environment
• Data modeling and preparing data structures tailored to analytical and business needs
• Implementing data processing solutions (batch and/or near real-time)
• Monitoring, optimizing, and developing existing pipelines and data processing workflows
• Collaborating with data analysts, BI teams, and Data Science teams to prepare and provide data
• Gathering business requirements and proposing optimal technological solutions
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for developed solutions
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in projects related to processing and integrating large volumes of data
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python
• Experience working with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark / PySpark
• Practical experience in designing and building Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions
• Ability to build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and work with data orchestration and integration tools
• Commercial experience in Microsoft Azure cloud-based data processing projects (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric)
• Knowledge of data processing concepts in distributed environments and pipeline optimization
• Fluent communication skills in English
• Fluent Polish language proficiency required
• Must be located in Poland

Nice to have

• Experience in data migration projects from on-premise to cloud (databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)
