Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a data engineer to join our Data & Analytics Competency Center. You will design and build scalable data platforms, develop ETL/ELT pipelines, and collaborate with analytics teams to deliver insights.

You should have 4+ years of experience with SQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, and Azure-based data processing (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse). Fluent English and Polish are required, and you must be located in Poland.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in processing and integrating large data volumes.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Experience with Spark / PySpark.
• Experience designing Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data orchestration.
• Commercial Azure cloud data projects (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric).
• Fluent English and Polish language skills.
• Based in Poland.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data processing platforms in Data Lake / Data Platform architectures.
• Create and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from sources and process it in Azure Databricks.
• Data modeling and preparing data structures tailored to analytical and business needs.
• Implement data processing solutions (batch and near real-time).
• Monitor, optimize, and develop existing pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborate with data analysts, BI teams, and Data Science teams to prepare and provide data.
• Gather business requirements and propose optimal technological solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions.
• Support and mentor less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Do you want to develop your skills in cloud technologies? Join our specialized unit of experts in data processing and analysis within the Data & Analytics Competency Center. We also offer development opportunities in Data Science, Big Data, and Machine Learning.

Your tasks

• Designing, building, and developing scalable and high-performance data processing platforms in Data Lake / Data Platform architecture
• Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from various sources and process it in Azure Databricks environment
• Data modeling and preparing data structures tailored to analytical and business needs
• Implementing data processing solutions (batch and/or near real-time)
• Monitoring, optimizing, and developing existing pipelines and data processing workflows
• Collaborating with data analysts, BI teams, and Data Science teams to prepare and provide data
• Gathering business requirements and proposing optimal technological solutions
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for developed solutions
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in projects related to processing and integrating large volumes of data
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python
• Experience working with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark / PySpark
• Practical experience in designing and building Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions
• Ability to build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and work with data orchestration and integration tools
• Commercial experience in Microsoft Azure cloud-based data processing projects (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric)
• Knowledge of data processing concepts in distributed environments and pipeline optimization
• Fluent communication skills in English
• Fluent Polish language proficiency required
• Must be located in Poland

Nice to have

• Experience in data migration projects from on-premise to cloud (databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)
