Calan in Warsaw is seeking a Chief Operations Officer to lead biogas plant operations in Poland. The role drives strategic execution, optimizes production processes, and manages cross-functional teams to ensure profitability and compliance.

Responsabilités

• Oversee operating area to maximize efficiency and profitability of biogas plants.
• Implement strategy through planning, tasks, goals and supervision.
• Supervise annual and long-term operation plans for biogas plants and production.
• Ensure maximum biogas production via fermentation process using substrates, waste and supplements.
• Maintain technical efficiency and optimize service costs.
• Conduct necessary tests on substrates, waste and digestate.
• Ensure legal compliance and HACCP-related recommendations.
• Develop operational and investment plans.
• Manage relationships with external partners, government bodies and financial institutions.
• Coordinate activities of all departments and teams with other company units.
• Prepare annual operating and capital budgets.
• Execute strategic projects.
• Develop plans aligned with strategic goals.
• Report to the management board.

Responsibilities

• Management of the operating area company in order to achieve optimal efficiency and profitability of the biogas plant
• Responsibility for the implementation of strategy through, among others: planning and carrying out tasks, formulating operational goals and supervising their implementation
• Supervises the preparation and implementation of annual and long-term plans for the operation of biogas plants and biogas production
• Ensuring the maximum level of biogas production "fermentation process" using purchased substrates, waste and supplements
• Ensuring the technical efficiency of the biogas plant and optimizing technical service costs
• Ensuring the necessary tests: substrates, waste and digestate
• Ensuring legal security in the implementation of tasks and recommendations resulting from the HACAP system at operated installations
• Developing operational and investment plans
• Managing relationships with external companies, government and local government organizations, financial institutions (including URE, National Fund for Environmental Protection, ARR, ZR),
• Managing the activities of all subordinate Departments and Teams and coordinating their activities with other departments of the company
• Preparing the annual operating and capital budget
• Conducting assigned strategic projects
• Developing operational and investment plans in line with strategic goals
• Reporting to the company’s management board

Skills and Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in similar position
• Knowledge of the processes and administrative procedures for renewable energy investments
• Knowledge of English
• Communication and negotiation skills
• Ability manage a team
• Very good knowledge of MS Office
• Willingness to travel on business and a category B driving license
