Job summary

Calan, based in Warsaw, Poland, seeks a Production Technologist to supervise the methane fermentation process and optimize production parameters across biogas plants. The role includes updating production plans and coordinating with supply and service divisions to align purchases with production needs.

The successful candidate will forecast biogas output, prepare analyses, and participate in international biotechnology development projects.

Qualifications

• Higher education in biology or chemistry or related field.
• Knowledge of English at B2 level.
• Practical knowledge of biogas production technology.
• Driving license category B and willingness to travel.
• Familiarity with Renewable Energy Act and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Biotechnological supervision of the methane fermentation process and control of the biogas and electricity production process by selecting optimal production parameters.
• Develop and update production plans for current plant situations.
• Update production plans in case of unusual situations (equipment failure, substrate supply changes).
• Prepare list of replacement substrates.
• Develop measurement and data acquisition methods.
• Forecast biogas production (short and medium term) and prepare reports.
• Coordinate purchasing policy with production requirements with Supply/Logistics and Technical Service divisions.
• Implement development projects (including international) in biotechnology.

Job description

Our International client is a strong player in the construction and exploitation of biogas plants. They produce, sell, distribute green electricity and heat. They have a dynamic development of biogas, biomethane production in Poland.

Due to the dynamic development of the company, we are looking for a Production Technologist based in Poland, Warsaw.

Responsibilities

• Biotechnological supervision of the methane fermentation process and control of the biogas and electricity production process by selecting optimal production parameters
• Development and ongoing updating of production plans adapted to the current situation in a given plant
• Current updating of production plans in the event of unusual situations (equipment failure, supply of substrates that was not previously planned or lack of supplies)
• Preparation of a list of replacement substrates
• Development of measurement and data acquisition methods
• Forecasting and analysis of biogas production (short and medium term)
• Preparing current reports and analyses
• Close cooperation with the Supply and Logistics Division and the Technical Service Division in order to closely coordinate the purchasing policy with the requirements of the production process as well as planned and unplanned service activities with the production process
• Implementation of development projects (including international ones) in the field of biotechnology.

Skills and Requirements

• Higher education in biology chemistry (e.g. biotechnology, environmental engineering, biology, environmental protection, chemical technology)
• Knowledge of English at B2 level
• Practical knowledge of biogas production technology
• Experience as a Technologist in an enterprise with a similar business profile is desirable
• Knowledge of regulations related to the position held is welcome, including: Renewable Energy Act, Energy Law, Waste Act, Environmental Protection Law, Fertilizers and Fertilization Act, Veterinary Regulations
• Valid category B driving license and willingness to travel on business
