MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Business Financial Analyst – Europe to support FP&A, reporting, and business analysis across multiple European countries. This role collaborates with regional partners to drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance insights.

The position develops strong FP&A and analytical skills in a multinational, fast-paced environment with ongoing improvement initiatives and reporting automation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of FP&A or financial analysis experience.
• Experience in a multinational organization preferred.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or business analysis is an advantage.
• Internship or graduate experience in corporate finance may be considered.
• Excellent English skills; other European languages are a plus.

Job description

Business Financial Analyst – Europe supports the financial planning, reporting, and business analysis activities for the European region. Working closely with the Business Partner Europe, this role contributes to budgeting, forecasting, monthly performance reporting, financial analysis, and business decision support across multiple European countries.

The analyst is responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining planning models, analyzing business performance, and supporting commercial and finance stakeholders with timely, accurate, and insightful financial information. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, reporting automation, and the standardization of financial processes across the region.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop strong FP&A, business partnering, and analytical skills within a multinational and fast‑paced environment.

You Will Make an Impact By:

Financial Planning & Reporting

• Support the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, monthly outlooks, and long‑range financial plans for the European region.
• Assist with the monthly financial close process by preparing reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Support the preparation of executive reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying significant variances and highlighting key business drivers.

Business Performance Analysis

• Analyze revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, profitability, and working capital across Business Units, Product Groups, and countries.
• Support ad hoc financial analyses requested by regional management.
• Assist in preparing profitability analyses, pricing evaluations, and cost analyses to support business decisions.

Business Partnering Support

• Collaborate with commercial, operations, supply chain, and finance teams to gather financial information and improve reporting quality.
• Help ensure consistency and accuracy of financial information shared with business stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Data Management

• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial planning and reporting processes.
• Support the automation of recurring reports and dashboards using available analytical tools.
• Assist with standardizing reporting templates and financial processes across European countries.

Skills You Bring

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Financial Analysis, Controlling, Accounting, or Commercial Finance.
• Experience within a multinational organization is preferred.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or business analysis is an advantage.
• Internship or graduate experience in corporate finance may also be considered.
• Excellent English skills, any other European language is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookups, and basic financial modeling.
• Experience with SAP ERP and SAP BW is preferred.
• Knowledge of Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to organize and interpret large volumes of financial data.
