Job summary

WorkBetterNow is seeking a remote Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records for clients in a fully remote setup. The role focuses on recording daily transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting monthly and yearly closings while maintaining data integrity and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in bookkeeping or accounting, familiarity with QuickBooks or Xero, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently from a remote location.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven bookkeeping or accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Record and categorize daily financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate classification of transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
• Monitor expenses and identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.
• Organize and maintain financial records and supporting documentation in a structured and secure manner.
• Collaborate with accountants or external auditors during financial reviews or audits.
• Support process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in bookkeeping operations.

Job Description

A remote Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, recording daily transactions, and supporting financial reporting to ensure the company’s financial health and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage financial data efficiently in a remote environment. While your duties will depend on the specific needs of your client, they will include, but not be limited to:
