You will join our Post-Trade Program and work with the newly established Post-Trade Harmonization Initiative. The program addresses post-trade harmonization requirements and develops future-ready solutions that support our member banks in making informed decisions and remaining compliant.
The QA engineer role offers the opportunity to help secure post-trade harmonization for our member banks. You will join a dedicated team with colleagues in Denmark and Poland.
Primary tasks and responsibilities include:
- Drive testing and quality within the team by establishing a clear testing vision and strategy and supporting its implementation.
- Begin with a strong focus on manual testing and gradually contribute to test automation, moving towards a balanced mix of manual and automated testing, with approximately 30-50% automation over time.
- Collaborate closely with team members and BEC's QA service team to adopt best practices, streamline testing processes and initiate automation activities.
To succeed you will have:
- Ability to analyse complex end-to-end flows across integrated systems, select an appropriate testing approach, manage defects end to end, advocate for quality across the software development life cycle and communicate quality risks and results to technical and business stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of key non-functional testing types, including performance, reliability and security testing, and the ability to identify when they should be applied based on system context and risk.
- Hands-on experience with test management tools such as Xray or similar, as well as practical experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI or Bruno, including validation of request and response structures and error handling.
- Ability to work with message queues, including IBM MQ, understand message flows, validate XML and JSON payloads, interpret XSD and JSON Schema, and test data structures and variations in message-based integrations.
- Experience with Playwright is preferred; experience with Cypress or a similar automation tool is also relevant. Familiarity with TypeScript and Java is desirable, although experience with other programming languages is acceptable.
- Ability to analyse application and system logs to support defect investigation, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, together with a willingness to learn and apply AI-based tools to improve testing effectiveness and support test automation.
- A self-motivated and structured approach, strong communication skills, the ability to organise and drive the testing agenda, and experience helping teams clarify requirements towards an acceptance test-driven development (ATDD) setup. ISTQB Foundation certification is required.
It's nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with investment products, the trade life cycle and settlement processes.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes, including basic integration of testing into CI/CD pipelines.

BEC is in the process of being acquired by our largest customer and co-owner, Nykredit, which is Denmark's largest mortgage provider and third-largest bank. We will become part of a new and larger organization called Nykredit Financial Technologies. In the transition phase, we are recruiting for roles that we expect to be highly needed in our future organization.
