Job summary

BEC is a financial technology company establishing an AI Hub in Warsaw to drive AI adoption across software engineering. The Senior AI Engineering Specialist will shape best practices for AI-enabled software development and support AI-powered approaches within financial products.

You will collaborate with AI engineers, architects and external partners to explore emerging AI technologies and guide development teams through adoption, with occasional travel to Denmark.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a software engineer, software architect or similar senior technical role.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies, LLMs and AI-assisted software development
• Experience using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar AI engineering platforms
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices, SDLC and modern development workflows
• Curiosity and passion for experimenting with emerging technologies and sharing knowledge with others
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
• A proactive approach, solution and service-oriented mindset
• A curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others

Responsibilities

• Establish best practices for AI-assisted software development, including coding, testing and engineering workflows (~30%)
• Develop prototypes, proofs of concept and provide as AI SME across several areas incl. financial services, software development and internal processes (~30%)
• Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to engineering teams adopting AI (~30%)
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools and models relevant to software engineering (~10%)
• Collaborate with architects, platform engineers, developers and external technology partners to identify opportunities for AI adoption
• Join AI hub, a strategic centralized unit, that includes AI engineers, Legal SME and AI evangelist (supporting user adoption) located mostly in Warsaw. Only a few yearly trips to Denmark will be required
• Share knowledge through training, demos, communities of practice and technical guidance

You will join our AI Hub. The AI Hub drives the adoption of AI across BEC and helps transform the way software is developed, delivered and operated. We work closely with engineering teams, architects and technology partners to explore and apply emerging AI technologies where they create real business value.

The Senior AI Engineering Specialist role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI for software engineering within the financial technology industry. You will shape engineering best practices for AI software development, support AI utilization in financial products and help development teams successfully adopt new AI-powered ways of working potentially impacting +500 employees.
Your direct manager will be Henriette Jensen.

To succeed you will have:

• Extensive experience as a software engineer, software architect or similar senior technical role
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies, LLMs and AI-assisted software development
• Experience using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar AI engineering platforms
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices, SDLC and modern development workflows
• Curiosity and passion for experimenting with emerging technologies and sharing knowledge with others
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
• A proactive approach, solution and service-oriented mindset
• A curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others

It’s nice-to-have:

• Experience training, fine-tuning or evaluating AI models
• Experience with AI harnesses, evaluation frameworks or benchmarking approaches
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI or Anthropic technologies
• Experience with Python or Java
• Knowledge of agentic AI systems and autonomous workflows
• Experience working within highly regulated environments such as financial services
• Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI and emerging AI regulations
