Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. seeks an Application Manager to own the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering applications, ensuring value, stability, security and compliance.

You will bridge business, IT, architecture, cybersecurity and vendors to govern onboarding, solution evolution, operations, risk management and controlled retirement. The role focuses on governance across the full lifecycle, CMDB maintenance, service delivery with SLAs, security/compliance, roadmapping, user adoption and cost

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Application Management or IT service delivery.
• ITIL 4 knowledge including incident, problem, change, release and SLAs.
• Experience with ServiceNow and lifecycle management.
• Engineering domain familiarity (design, manufacturing, PLM).
• Experience working with global, cross‑functional teams.
• Knowledge of agile or DevOps development models.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation in the CMDB / application registry.
• Ensure service delivery and manage incidents, changes and releases with SLAs.

Job description

As Application Manager you are accountable for the end‑to‑end lifecycle management of Engineering applications. Ensure they deliver sustainable business value, operational stability, security, and regulatory compliance. Acting as the primary owner for assigned applications, the role bridges business, IT, architecture, cybersecurity, and vendors to govern onboarding, solution evolution, operations, risk management, and controlled retirement. The Application Manager ensures applications are strategically aligned with enterprise architecture and digital transformation objectives, while meeting cost, performance, and compliance expectations.

How you’ll make an impact

• Govern applications across thefull lifecycle: onboarding, operations and continuous improvement, to retirement
• Maintain application documentation and records in theCMDB / application registry
• Ensure effectiveservice delivery, including incident, problem, change, and release management. Manageapplication availability, performance, and SLAs
• Ensuresecurity and compliancerequirements are met, including access management, audits, and vulnerability remediation
• Maintainapplication roadmapsaligned with business priorities, engineering strategy, and enterprise architecture
• Driveuser adoptionand support process harmonization, training, and business value realization
• Managecosts, budgets, licenses, and vendors, including contracts and third‑party performance
• Plan and executecontrolled application retirement, including data archiving and risk mitigation

Your Background

• 2+ years inApplication Management, IT Service Delivery, or similar roles. Experience managing applications across the complete lifecycle.ITIL 4(Incident, Problem, Change, Release, SLA Management). Application Lifecycle & Service Management tools (e.g.ServiceNow)
• Functional knowledge or hands‑on experience inEngineering domain(engineering tools, product design, manufacturing, PLM systems)
• Experience working withglobal, cross‑functional teams
• Solid understanding ofsoftware development lifecycles, integrations, and data flows.Agile / DevOpsdevelopment models
