Job summary

SMA Magnetics Sp. z o.o. in Kraków is seeking an Application Engineer to package and deploy software, and to provide 2nd level support for client applications.

The role involves building MSI/EXE packages for Intune deployment, defining installation routines, and rolling out software updates in an enterprise environment. You will analyze incidents, troubleshoot installation and runtime issues, and collaborate with QA, IT, and software providers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Several years of experience in software packaging and IT support.
• Experience with MSI, EXE, and Intune deployment.
• Proficiency in Windows client operating systems.
• Strong English (B2) and German (B2) language skills.
• Analytical thinking and structured, independent work.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.

Purpose Of The Position

Ensuring stable and efficient software deployment as well as qualified second-level support for client applications. This role combines technical packaging expertise with in-depth troubleshooting in daily IT operations.

APPLICATION ENGINEER (m/k)

Location: Opolska, Kraków

Your Role

Application Packaging & Deployment

• Packaging applications (MSI, EXE) for distribution via Microsoft Intune
• Creating .intunewin packages using the Microsoft Win32 Content Prep Tool
• Defining installation and uninstallation routines and detection rules
• Planning, testing, and rolling out software packages
• Maintaining and updating existing applications

2nd Level Support – Client Applications

• Analysis and resolution of incidents related to client software
• Troubleshooting installation and runtime issues
• Evaluation of logs and performance of root cause analyses
• Supporting 1st Level Support with more complex issues
• Communication with software providers and internal stakeholders

Cross-functional tasks

• Documentation of packaging, solutions, and processes
• Contribution to the optimization of deployment and support processes
• Support for software testing and quality assurance

What We Require

• Degree in Information Technology or equivalent qualification
• Several years of experience in software packaging and IT support
• Application Packaging & Deployment (MSI, EXE, Intune)
• Software Distribution and Packaging in Enterprise Environments
• Troubleshooting Client Applications and Deployment Processes
• Microsoft Intune
• Windows Installer (MSI), silent installations, and deployment processes
• Strong knowledge of Windows client operating systems
• Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages is a plus
• Proficiency in English min. B2 (C1 is a plus)
• German language B2
• Analytical thinking and the ability to work in a structured and independent manner
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
