Responsibilities
- Support the CEO and Sales Manager in planning, coordinating, and completing administrative tasks for the sales process of renewable energy projects.
- Client communication, conducting research, event planning, creating and distributing sales collateral, and CRM data management.
- Data Entry and CRM Management: Entering lead and contact information for businesses and facility managers into the CRM; updating opportunity stages, timelines, and notes specific to solar project lifecycles.
- Managing email lists and distribution for commercial solar communication.
- Scheduling appointments and meetings with business decision-makers and facility managers; sending calendar invites and confirmations for meetings and site visits.
- Communication and Reporting: Sending follow-up emails and making reminder calls after initial contact with commercial leads; drafting basic communication like introductory or thank you emails tailored to commercial clients.
- Generating basic reports on sales activity and key metrics related to commercial solar opportunities.
- Prospect Research and Qualification: Researching potential customers in the commercial sector (businesses, factories, etc.) and compiling qualified lead lists based on energy consumption data and suitability for solar power; qualifying leads based on pre-defined criteria, including business size, energy usage patterns, and roof suitability for solar panels; assisting with competitive research on other solar providers in the commercial space.
- Sales Collateral and Document Management: Formatting and customizing solar proposal slide decks; participating in the creation and distribution of company sales materials (digital, printed, and web-based) including employee gear, business cards, case studies, testimonials, and project documentation; managing document templates, tracking document execution, sending reminders for signatures, and filing completed documents.
Qualifications
- 3 years experience in energy, sales, administration, or other related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly while keeping others apprised of status with respect to deadlines.
- Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Detail and results-oriented with an ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment as well as extended hours, as required.
- Proficient in computers and technology, including Microsoft365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), Cloud-based storage (BOX, Dropbox), Document management (Adobe Acrobat, Docusign), CRM (Salesforce preferred), and Gmail/Gsuite.
- Ability to navigate and manage a remote work environment, including having a dedicated workspace and Internet access.
Minimum Technical and Work Environment Requirements
- Internet Connection: Primary internet connection with a minimum speed of 15 Mbps; backup internet connection with at least 10 Mbps, backup connection must be capable of supporting work during a power outage.
- Primary Device: Desktop or laptop equipped with at least an Intel Core i5 (8th generation or newer), Intel Core i3 (10th generation or newer), AMD Ryzen 5, or an equivalent processor; a minimum of 8 GB RAM.
- Backup Device: Must meet or exceed the performance of an Intel Core i3 processor; must be functional during power interruptions.
- Peripherals and Workspace: A functioning webcam; a noise-canceling USB headset; a quiet, dedicated home office space; a smartphone for communication and verification purposes.
