Job summary

Burq is seeking a VP of Finance to scale our finance and operations into a strategic engine for growth. You’ll own budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, pricing strategy, and board reporting, partnering with founders to drive revenue and value.

You will lead FP&A, accounting, and G&A operations with a hands-on, builder mindset, ready to codify processes and controls as the company expands in a remote setup across the US and Canada.

Qualifications

• 10+ years across finance and operations with senior leadership experience.
• A hands-on player-coach who builds the model, forecast, and board deck.
• Led or central to growth fundraising—modeling and diligence.
• Command of marketplace / usage-based accounting and revenue recognition.
• Built and scaled an FP&A function and matured finance operations.
• Strong unit economics metrics for a marketplace and pricing strategy.
• Operational breadth across HR, Legal, and G&A.
• CPA or equivalent accounting experience is a plus.
• Strategic partner to founders turning numbers into decisions.
• Bonus: experience in logistics or operational marketplaces.

Responsibilities

• Own budgeting, forecasting, and a rolling financial model grounded in actual results.
• Deliver real-time visibility into burn, runway, and cash.
• Institute capital-allocation discipline with clear ROI.
• Produce board‑grade financial reporting and analysis.
• Own and shape revenue strategy including pricing and monetization.
• Model unit economics and CAC:LTV for the marketplace.
• Scale accounting operations and internal controls.
• Lead investor and board reporting and materials.
• Provide operational leadership across G&A including HR and Legal.
• Partner with founders on strategic, company-wide decisions.
