Job summary

Burq, a remote-first delivery platform company, seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to join as a founding member of the Platform team. You will own infrastructure, security, CI/CD, and reliability to accelerate product teams.

In this high-ownership role, you will design and build the platform Burq scales on for years, with a focus on AWS, Terraform, and scalable CI/CD. Fully remote with strong engineering impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience, 3+ years in infra/platform engineering.
• Deep AWS expertise (ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda).
• Terraform proficiency: infrastructure as code.
• Strong CI/CD background with GitHub Actions.
• Security-minded with minimal friction for product engineers.
• Experience with observability tooling (CloudWatch, Datadog, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the AWS account split into isolated environments (prod/stage/dev).
• Lead Aurora DB production migration with support from infra advisor.
• Manage ECS Fargate, RDS, ElastiCache, SQS, and ALB configurations.
• Own Terraform—IaC, not click-ops.
• Harden IAM, access controls, and security posture.
• Own GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and deployment velocity.
• Build platform developer experience with Docker-based stacks and test environments.
• Lead post-incident reviews and runbooks.
