Job summary

Indus Hospital is seeking a Staff Technologist in Molecular Biology for its Clinical Laboratories to perform routine and advanced molecular diagnostic tests. The role requires precise processing of samples and adherence to SOPs, quality control, and timely communication of critical findings.

The candidate should possess a BS-MLT with 3-5 years of molecular biology experience and be able to work in rotational shifts (Morning/Evening/Night).

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of clinical lab technologist experience within Molecular Biology.
• Experience in performing molecular diagnostic tests and using laboratory analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized molecular diagnostic tests, ensuring accurate and timely processing of laboratory samples and results.
• Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance of molecular laboratory analyzers and instruments, including troubleshooting and coordination with biomedical/supplier teams when required.
• Conduct quality control, review Levey-Jennings (LJ) plots, participate in EQA activities, and ensure compliance with established quality standards and SOPs.
• Review and validate test results, including repetition or rejection of tests where required, and promptly communicate abnormal or critical findings to relevant clinicians/consultants.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, consumables, sample retention, documentation, and maintenance records, while providing guidance and training to junior technologists and trainees.
