Job summary

Umer & Company in Lahore is seeking a Senior IT Admin to own and run the new Lahore office. You will set standards, guide the support staff, and be accountable for uptime, security, and IT budgets.

Responsibilities include managing power systems (UPS, inverter, generator), ensuring internet stability with multiple ISPs, overseeing servers, virtualization, storage and Microsoft 365, and drafting RFPs for vendors while aligning with management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT or system administration with ownership of an IT environment.
• Hands-on with power systems: inverter, UPS and generator sizing and runtime calculations.
• Networking across Cisco, MikroTik, UniFi or Huawei: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPN and firewalls.
• Experience with virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, plus Windows Server and AD.
• RFPs and vendor management; delivering projects to defined scope, cost and date.
• Proven track record of delivering solutions, mentoring juniors, and clear cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Own Lahore office IT operations, set standards and be accountable for uptime.
• Lead support staff and coordinate IT projects from scope to delivery.
• Prepare RFPs and manage vendors and ISPs with clear options for management.
• Oversee power, backup, and infrastructure including servers and Microsoft 365.
• Ensure network and security controls, backups, and patching schedules.

Role & Responsibilities

We are hiring a senior Technology Officer for our new Lahore office. This is an ownership role. You will decide what the office runs on, keep it running, and answer for it when something breaks. You will set standards, guide the support staff, prepare RFPs, deal with vendors and ISPs, and put clear options in front of management.

What you will own

• Power and backup: Inverters, UPS, generator and stabilizers, sized to real load and tested regularly.
• Internet stability: Multiple ISPs with automatic failover, alerting, and evidence based ISP escalation.
• Infrastructure: Racks, cabling and endpoints, plus servers, hypervisors, VMs, storage and Microsoft 365.
• Vendors and RFPs: Write the specification, compare quotes on total cost, and enforce service levels.
• Strategy and budget: A costed two or three year plan, with spend ranked by what it protects or unlocks.
• Security and upkeep: Patching, access reviews, tested restores, surveillance and access control, on a calendar.
• People and projects: Guide the support staff, run projects to scope, cost and date, flag slippage early.

What we need from you

• 8+ years in IT or system administration, including 2 years owning an environment or running an IT function.
• Hands-on with inverter, UPS and generator backed power, including load and runtime calculations.
• Networking on Cisco, MikroTik, UniFi or Huawei: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPN, firewalls, Wi-Fi.
• Servers and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox), plus Windows Server, Windows 10/11 and Active Directory.
• RFPs and vendor management, plus projects delivered to a scope, a cost and a date.
• A record of delivery you can talk through, leadership of juniors, and clear communication outside IT.
• DAE (CIT), BSIT, BSCS or related. CCNA, HCIA, CompTIA or Microsoft certifications preferred.
