Job summary

Rafhanmaize, located at the Cornwala Plant in Pakistan, seeks a Senior Boiler Engineer to plan, execute, and ensure reliability of utilities and WWTP maintenance, with SAP-based preventive and corrective work management. You will define methods, resources, and time/cost estimates, while overseeing third-party contractors and ensuring safety compliance.

Ideal candidates have a 1st Class Boiler certificate, 7–10 years in utilities maintenance, ERP/SAP proficiency, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Chemical or Mechanical engineering or DAE in related discipline.
• First Class Boiler Competency Certificate compulsory.
• 7–10 years of utilities operations and maintenance experience.
• Experience dealing with government regulatory authorities; SAP literacy.

Location: Cornwala Plant

Reports To: Manager Maintenance

The Senior Boiler Engineer is responsible for planning, execution, and reliability of Utilities & WWTP all maintenance activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations. To Ensure that all Preventive and Corrective maintenance work is planned in SAP and execute before the due date. Preparation of all work by defining the most appropriate job execution method, logic, resources and estimates the required time/costs, and will also be responsible for planning, supervision, and billing of Third-party contractor’s jobs. Ensuring that an adequate maintenance philosophy and strategy drive the required maintenance processes and systems.

Core Responsibilities:

Operation & Maintenance

• Annual inspection of boilers by Government regulatory authority.
• Inspections of pressure vessels from the third party as per directions of Boiler Inspectorate Punjab.
• Dealing with third party contractors regarding safe and secure execution of assigned jobs.
• Ensuring adherence of Preventive maintenance schedules
• Coordination with maintenance team for execution of corrective and preventive maintenance of Utilities equipment.
• Responsible to ensure and enhance equipment reliability.
• Responsible for operation & maintenance of WWTP to fulfill regulatory requirements / NEQS limit.
• Indenting, inspection and inventory control of spares related to utilities.
• Overall supervision for the maintenance of boilers, LPG plant, cooling towers, chillers, tube wells, gas lines, instrument and plant air lines, steam distribution and condensate recovery lines.
• Oversea maintenance of equipment relating to ground water, canal water, pretreatment of canal water, soft water and circulating water to ensure adequate and reliable supply to the different sections of plant.
• Lead maintenance activities of refrigerant chillers to ensure supply of chilled water to the Dextrose and MSD plant.
• Oversea Maintenance of Air Compressors and Dryers to ensure Dry and within specification supply of Compressed and instrument air to plant.
• Dealing with SNGPL authorities for gas related matters.
• Implementing safety measures on all related jobs.
• Adhere to departmental goals and KPIs to achieve targeted results.
• Periodic review of Utilities related SOPs.
• Responsible for uploading data on the power BI sheet.
• Responsible for all SAP related activities of Utilities & Co-gen plant.
• Responsible for monthly closing activities of Utilities & Co-gen.

Project Management

• Execute utilities projects including upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
• Submission & execution of new ideas for continuous improvement to keep the system updated with latest technologies.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and ensure project timelines are met.

Inventory Management

• Manage critical spares inventory and coordinate with procurement.
• Liaison with procurement department for the status of pipeline orders.
• Responsible for raising SAP purchase requisitions, Store material reservations.
• To raise Purchase Requisitions for the external resources regarding special jobs (if no in-house expertise is available) and outsourced jobs.

Contractor Management

• Promote safe working practices and teamwork & allied training of contractor
• Supervise contractors and ensure quality work within budget.

People Management

• Must have the capability to lead the Utilities team and develop close coordination among intra and inter departments. Providing awareness to the staff regarding best working practices, guiding them in technical matters and building teams for effectiveness.

Compliance of Company Policies

• Strict compliance with company safety policies and procedures during execution work at site and

keeping complete checks on contractors to observe all the safety requirements as per company policy.

Continuous Improvement

• Share continuous improvement projects to conserve energy through optimization of processes, preparation of their feasibility reports, BOQs, follow up for procurement of material and ensure safe execution of projects in stipulated time. Contract management will be mandatory.

Mandatory requirements:

• Basic qualification: B.Sc. Chemical engineering / B.Sc. Mechanical engineering / DAE in Mechanical / Chemical discipline
• 1st Class Boiler Competency Certificate is Compulsory
• Minimum 7 ~ 10-year experience as Utilities operations and maintenance including coal / Diesel / gas fired Boilers
• Capable of dealing with Govt. regulatory authorities. Should be computer Literate and have ability for installation and commissioning of Utilities related equipment
• English fluency, both written and spoken
• Sound knowledge of ERP system including SAP, Lean Six Sigma, MS Office, & Power BI to carry out Preventive & Corrective Maintenance.
• Good understanding international standards of EHS, IMS, GPM, ISO & Food Safety etc.

Desirable requirements:

• Knowledge of CFB boilers and coal fired powerhouse is an additive
• Working knowledge of Maintenance Methodologies, Reliability Management & People Development is desirable
• Personnel should have full command of maintenance and installation and commissioning of utilities-related equipment.
• Personnel should be aware of the safety standards to be adopted during high-risk jobs execution.
