Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year as Medical Virtual Assistant
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Professional communication style
• Must be a Mac OS user
• Attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proven leadership or ownership in a previous role

Responsibilities

• Insurance Verification: Verify insurance after check-in and document details
• Denied Claims Management: Review denials and assist with reprocessing
• EOB Processing: Review and clear EOB backlog
• Patient Balance Resolution: Track unresolved balances and coordinate resolution
• Claims Processing: Support Cigna and VA claims and escalate when needed
• Payment Coordination: Assist with vendor payments and checks
• SOAP Note Monitoring: Track documentation accuracy and timeliness
• Appointment Tracking: Monitor missed/cancelled appointments and patterns
• Reports and Operational Tracking: Prepare actionable reports on balances and metrics
• Team Coordination: Ensure clear communication between provider and care team
• Operational Support: Identify workflow gaps and suggest improvements
