Job summary

GoLean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support a U.S.-based pulmonary specialty practice remotely. The role combines front-desk patient communication with back-office medical records management, handling high-volume calls, coordinating patient requests, and working with the clinical team.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of relevant experience, excellent English communication, HIPAA familiarity, and experience with AthenaHealth EMR.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Virtual Medical Assistant experience with U.S.-based practices.
• Experience in patient communication and medical records processing.
• Strong English communication, professional and empathetic.
• Familiar with U.S. healthcare workflows and HIPAA.
• Able to multitask in a high-volume remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Answer high-volume patient calls, confirm appointments, and route requests.
• Triage messages and EMR tasks, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Coordinate with bilingual staff to assist Spanish-speaking patients.
• Process records requests and support billing coordination.
• Maintain EMR accuracy and help document SOPs.
