Job summary

A. F. Ferguson & Co. Chartered Accountants (a member firm of the PwC network) in Karachi is seeking an IT Service Desk specialist to join our IT team. You will support users and manage applications to enable productive work.

You will monitor network and assist end-users, collaborating with global teams; on-call and on-site support in a fast-paced environment; growth opportunities within Internal Firm Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in computer science or equivalent IT qualification.
• 1.5 years of experience in IT service desk or related role.
• CCNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure (LAN, routers, switches, wireless).
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues for end-users.
• Assist in network configuration, upgrades and patch management.
• Provide on-call support and incident response as needed.
• Ensure documentation and audit-ready records; collaborate with IT teams.

Technical Skills

• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, routers, switches & wireless network
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN,VLAN and network security concepts.
• Assist in network configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
• Assist end-users with troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity problems to ensure seamless user experience.
• Hands-on experience with networking devices such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar vendors.
• Participate in network incident response and provide on-call support as needed.
• Assist in capacity planning and recommend upgrades to improve network performance and scalability.
• Ensure network infrastructure compliance with annual audit requirements by preparing documentation, identifying gaps, and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to elevate and resolve complex technical problems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Ensure network security by managing access controls, monitoring vulnerabilities, and maintaining secure network configurations.
• Good written and communication skills to work with global teams.

Vendor Correspondence, Negotiation & SLA Management

• Communicating with vendors for service requests, connectivity issues, repairs, and replacements.
• Negotiating turnaround times, resolution targets, and service credits per SLA.
• Managing vendor escalations and ensuring timely updates during outages/issues.
• Maintaining professional written correspondence (email/ticket notes) and audit-ready records.
