Job summary

Relief International seeks a Wellbeing Centre MHPSS Officer to lead day-to-day mental health and psychosocial support services at the RI Wellbeing Centre. The role provides assessment, counselling and referral, and supervises the Wellbeing MHPSS Assistant while coordinating with mobile teams and hotline services.

The position emphasizes safeguarding, confidentiality, and equitable access for women, girls, and vulnerable participants, with supervision in place to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Qualified mental health professional with psychosocial support expertise.
• Ability to assess distress and plan care within professional competence.
• Willingness to participate in clinical supervision.

Responsibilities

• Organize daily service schedules and private consultation spaces.
• Explain the centre's services and eligibility; ensure access for women, girls and vulnerable participants.
• Coordinate appointment capacity, waiting lists and essential materials with the Coordinator.
• Undertake consent-based psychological assessment of distress and plan care; review through supervision.
• Deliver individual and group psychosocial support and document progress; refer when needed.
• Supervise Wellbeing Centre Assistant and ensure quality of reception, activity-support and admin work.
• Coordinate referrals with psychiatrists and ensure continuity of care; escalate high-risk situations.
• Participate in regular clinical supervision and use feedback to improve wellbeing outcomes.
