Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end onboarding of small and medium merchants onto the Raast P2M QR code payment platform.
• Achieve monthly targets related to active merchants, transaction volumes, and overall transaction value.
• Train merchants on using Raast QR technology and workflows.
• Monitor and resolve merchant transaction disputes and ensure prompt settlement per regulatory timelines.
• Drive acquisition, activation, and liquidity management of branchless banking agents.
• Cross-sell Raast P2M QR codes to agents to increase penetration.
• Own full P&L accountability for agent banking and Raast P2M channels.
• Design incentive programs to boost usage of Raast P2M services.

The Manager will spearhead merchant acquisition and activation, ensuring seamless use of branchless banking products to drive financial inclusion in diverse urban and rural markets. This position demands a strategic leader able to manage a small team of two, coordinating field operations and collaborating closely with technology and marketing functions to achieve business growth and excellent customer experience.The ideal candidate brings at least five years of relevant experience, including hands-on involvement with Raast P2M or similar QR-based instant payment systems, and a proven track record of scaling merchant networks and branchless banking agents effectively. Responsibilities include ownership of P&L for agent banking and Raast P2M channels, compliance with regulatory guidelines, merchant training, and leveraging data analytics for targeted business expansion. Extensive travel is required to nurture relationships with merchants and agents and ensure high service standards. This position reports within a collaborative environment where proactive leadership, operational rigor, and continuous improvement are critical to success.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end onboarding of small and medium merchants, including retailers and street vendors, onto the Raast P2M QR code payment platform to promote instant, zero-cost digital transactions.
• Achieve monthly targets related to the number of active merchants, transaction volumes, and overall transaction value transmitted via Raast P2M.
• Train merchants thoroughly on using Raast QR technology and workflows to enable efficient payment collections.
• Monitor and resolve merchant transaction disputes and ensure prompt settlement in compliance with regulatory timelines.
• Drive acquisition, activation, and liquidity management of branchless banking agents offering services like cash-in/out, bill payments, and fund transfers.
• Cross-sell Raast P2M QR codes to agents, increasing business penetration and integration across banking channels.
• Own full P&L accountability for agent banking and Raast P2M channels, including revenue streams such as merchant discount rates, float income, and non-funded income sources.
• Design and implement incentive programs such as cashback and loyalty rewards to boost usage and engagement of Raast P2M services.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute consumer campaigns aimed at promoting Raast QR payments at local retail outlets.
• Ensure strict compliance with State Bank of Pakistan guidelines for Raast P2M operations, including merchant KYC, QR code issuance standards, and transaction limits.
• Coordinate with internal IT and finance teams to guarantee timely merchant settlements, maintaining high transactional reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Proactively address and reduce merchant transaction failures by engaging product and technology teams to resolve technical and network issues.
• Serve as the primary business point of contact for Raast P2M product enhancements, including new features such as dynamic QR codes and reconciliation dashboards.
• Lead user acceptance testing phases for enhancements connected to Raast and branchless banking agent portals.
• Utilize analytical tools to identify high-potential merchant clusters and efficiently allocate field teams to maximize impact.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and operational guidance to a team of two, including Area Managers and Merchant Relationship Officers focused on daily targets.
• Conduct thorough training sessions for field staff and merchants emphasizing product benefits, dispute handling, and customer education to foster loyalty and trust.
• Commit to extensive travel (50% or more) across urban and rural areas to directly oversee branchless banking activities and strengthen grassroots connections..
