Job summary

World Food Programme in Islamabad is seeking a logistics professional to contribute to daily planning and coordination of logistics operations, including monitoring contracted services to ensure cost-effective operations and achievement of objectives.

The role emphasizes development of logistics plans, data analysis, budgeting, reporting, and supporting emergency response through capacity building for staff and partners, with coordination across procurement, shipping and warehousing.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in transport economics, supply chain, logistics, engineering, business management, mathematics or related field.
• First university degree with additional years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of logistics plans and processes ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
• Support or manage logistics projects and activities to deliver food assistance effectively.
• Collect and analyse data to recommend actions improving performance of local logistics operations.
• Conduct financial analysis and budget reviews to optimise use of funds.
• Contribute to procurement, shipping, port operations, and logistics services management.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other units for emergency response.
• Gude and supervise junior staff, act as a point of referral for complex analysis.
• Prepare accurate KPI reporting and support informed decision-making.
