Job summary

Moniepoint Inc. is seeking a Head of Engineering for the POS Application Platform to own the platform that underpins all POS devices. You will lead a cross-functional team to build a scalable, reliable, and secure platform with strong engineering standards and tooling.

The role requires deep Android experience, EMV/payment certification familiarity, and success scaling platform teams across markets. International expansion and cross-border payments are central to the scope.

Qualifications

• Ten years of hands-on software engineering experience with at least six years in leadership roles.
• Experience building software for POS devices, specifically on-device applications.
• Strong understanding of EMV standards and payment certifications.
• Deep Android engineering expertise (Kotlin/Java).
• Proven experience creating internal engineering platforms and shared tooling.
• Experience governing multiple POS device types across OEMs.
• Ability to scale platform teams and drive governance structures.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for the POS Application Platform.
• Lead platform pillars: developer experience, platform reliability, foundational frameworks, and squad adoption.
• Define engineering standards across POS devices and OEMs.
• Direct POS engineers across multiple squads and ensure platform health.
• Oversee observability, monitoring, and incident response for the platform.
• Collaborate with OEMs and device teams to onboard new devices.
• Build and scale the platform team and grow the organization.
• Translate platform decisions into business impact with leadership.
