Job summary

Moniepoint Inc. is seeking a Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway in Pakistan to steer the technical direction of Monnify, the payments gateway layer connecting merchants to networks and banks.

You will drive architecture, reliability, and security at scale while leading multiple engineering teams through managers. The role focuses on multi-currency and international expansion, API-first developer experience, and collaborating with product, commercial, and operations to align tech investments

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in engineering leadership.
• 5+ years hands-on production Java experience as a practising engineer.
• Experience managing managers and leading an engineering organisation.
• Experience in payments/fintech with understanding of payment flows and compliance.
• Strong backend skills in high-throughput, distributed systems.
• Familiarity with API-first products and developer platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the full technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Monnify platform across capability areas.
• Lead multiple engineering teams through engineering managers and set quality standards.
• Own developer experience end-to-end, including APIs, documentation and SDKs.
• Drive platform evolution towards multi-currency and international scalability.
• Ensure platform reliability, security and scalability within a regulated environment.
• Partner with product, commercial and operations to align tech investments with business goals.
• Hire, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers.
