A Branch Manager is responsible for achieving financial and service objectives by leading and planning branch functions, focusing on loan and deposit acquisition within budget constraints. They ensure the branch operates efficiently, maintaining a balance between loans and deposits to achieve self‑funding status. The role involves overseeing all operational and administrative functions, ensuring timely service delivery, and organizing procedures for smooth branch operations.
Responsibilities
- Create an environment and team spirit for achieving financial and service level objectives. Plan the branch functions with focus on acquisition of loans and deposits and operate within the assigned budget.
- Achieve self‑funding status by gradually creating a balance between loans and deposits and take full responsibility as a revenue center.
- Take full measures to ensure economy in expense and set standards of frugality to meet the dynamics of microfinance business.
- Act as a credit officer and arrange approval of loans.
- Responsible for the functioning of the branch in all aspects including operational and administrative functions.
- Ensure timely opening of the branch and resumption of service by 9.00 AM as laid down and close at specified timings.
- Organize procedures for smooth opening and closing of branch with full assignment of responsibilities.
- Organize work and branch flow so that every resource is productively deployed and gives best effort to achieve requisite standards. Carry out regular capacity planning to identify resource needs and request the hub for requirements in all functional areas.
- Organize collection and recovery process to keep delinquencies and losses within specified limits.
- Ensure execution of financial/ functional transactions with utmost efficiency and integrity of the process.
- Plan and execute cash to ensure optimum availability and avoid inactive/non‑productive cash holding.
- Arrange training for branch staff and build their professional and leadership potential.
- Undertake self‑assessment on regular basis and prepare the branch for internal/external/SBP audits at any time.
- Take full responsibility for bank’s reputation in all functional areas, particularly the integrity of the system and financial reconciliation.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in marketing or commerce from a reputable institution. MBA preferable (subject to approval).
- Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
