Job summary

Strong emphasis on research, publications, curriculum implementation, and PMDC compliance. The candidate should hold MBBS with a Level-III postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry (FCPS/MD/MRCP or equivalent) and valid PMDC registration, plus documented teaching

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• FCPS / MD / MRCP / Level-III postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry, PM&DC recognized and registered.
• Valid PM&DC registration is mandatory.
• Meets PM&DC eligibility for Assistant Professor in Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical services in OPD, IPD, and emergency settings.
• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and clinical teaching to undergrad and postgrad students.
• Supervise Senior Registrars, Registrars, and House Officers.
• Conduct research and publish in recognized journals as per PMDC criteria.
• Contribute to curriculum delivery and assessment processes.
• Perform and supervise clinical procedures relevant to Psychiatry.
• Lead ward rounds and manage cases with evidence-based approaches.
• Participate in student assessments, examinations, and evaluations.
• Engage in audits, accreditation processes, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in institutional committees and academic activities.
• Maintain continuous medical education and PMDC compliance.

Job Requirements

Qualification

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by PM&DC.
• FCPS / MD / MRCP / equivalent Level-III postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry, recognized and registered by PM&DC.
• Valid PM&DC registration is mandatory.
• Candidates must meet the applicable PM&DC eligibility requirements for appointment as Assistant Professor in the relevant specialty.

Experience

• Relevant postgraduate/teaching experience in Psychiatry in a PM&DC-recognized medical teaching institution/hospital.
• Demonstrated experience in undergraduate and/or postgraduate medical education.
• Clinical experience in Psychiatry, including patient assessment and management.
• Research experience and publications in recognized medical journals will be an added advantage.
• Teaching experience must be appropriately documented and recognized in accordance with PM&DC regulations.
