Job summary

RLMC and AMTH in Lahore invites applications for Assistant Professor of Critical Care. This permanent role requires PMDC registration and a Level III postgrad in Critical Care/ICU.

You will provide clinical services in OPD, IPD and emergency settings, teach undergraduates/postgraduates, supervise trainees, and contribute to research and curriculum delivery. MBBS or equivalent, PMDC registration, at least two years ICU experience, and publications are preferred.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized/registered with PM&DC.
• PM&DC-recognized Level III postgraduate qualification in Critical Care/ICU or the relevant recognized specialty (e.g., FCPS, MD, MS).
• Valid PM&DC registration is mandatory.
• Postgraduate qualification must be registered/recognized by PM&DC.

Responsibilities

• Clinical services provision: high-quality patient care in OPD, IPD and emergency settings.
• Teaching & academic delivery: lectures, tutorials, and clinical teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Supervision of trainees: supervise Senior Registrars, Registrars, and House Officers.
• Research & publications: conduct research and publish in recognized journals per PMDC criteria.
• Curriculum implementation: contribute to curriculum delivery and assessment processes.
• Clinical procedures & expertise: perform and supervise relevant clinical procedures.
• Ward rounds & case management: lead ward rounds and ensure evidence-based patient management.
• Assessment & evaluation: participate in student assessments, examinations, and evaluations.
• Quality Assurance: engage in audits, accreditation processes, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Institutional service: participate in committees and academic/administrative activities.
• Professional development: maintain continuous medical education and PMDC compliance.
• General responsibility: any other task assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Qualification

Experience

• Minimum 02 years of clinical experience in the relevant specialty after completion of the Level III postgraduate qualification, in a PM&DC-recognized institution.


• Demonstrated experience in the management of critically ill patients and ICU-based clinical practice.


• Teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level will be an advantage.


• At least 02 research publications in the relevant subject, as required under the PM&DC Teaching Regulations 2025.
