Job summary

Nephrology RLMC and AMTH in Lahore seeks an experienced nephrology specialist to join as Assistant Professor. The role encompasses clinical service, teaching, and academic leadership in a PMDC-aligned framework.

Responsibilities include patient care in OPD/IPD/emergency, medical teaching for undergraduates/postgraduates, supervision of trainees, and active involvement in research and curriculum delivery.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered with PMDC.
• FCPS Nephrology / MD Nephrology / equivalent PMDC-recognized Level-III postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty.
• PMDC registration is mandatory.
• Postgraduate qualification must be recognized/registered by PMDC.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Services Provision: Provide high-quality patient care in OPD, IPD and emergency settings.
• Teaching & Academic Delivery: Deliver lectures, tutorials, and clinical teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Supervision of Trainees: Supervise Senior Registrars, Registrars, and House Officers in clinical and academic activities.
• Research & Publications: Conduct research and publish in recognized journals as per PMDC criteria.
• Curriculum Implementation: Contribute to curriculum delivery and assessment processes.
• Clinical Procedures & Expertise: Perform and supervise clinical procedures relevant to nephrology.
• Ward Rounds & Case Management: Lead ward rounds and ensure evidence-based patient management.
• Assessment & Evaluation: Participate in student assessments and examinations.
• Quality Assurance: Engage in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Institutional Service: Participate in committees and academic activities.
• Professional Development: Maintain PMDC compliance and ongoing medical education.

Job Requirements

Qualification

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered with PM&DC.
• FCPS Nephrology / MD Nephrology / equivalent PM&DC-recognized Level-III postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty.
• Valid PM&DC registration is mandatory.
• Postgraduate qualification must be recognized/registered by PM&DC.

Experience

• Relevant postgraduate clinical/teaching experience in Nephrology in accordance with the applicable PM&DC Teaching Regulations.
• Candidates should fulfill the PM&DC eligibility requirements for appointment as Assistant Professor in the relevant specialty.
• Teaching experience in Nephrology/Medicine at a recognized medical institution will be preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical nephrology, renal replacement therapy, and management of complex renal patients will be an advantage.
• Research publications in the relevant subject, as required by applicable PM&DC criteria, will be preferred/required as applicable.
