Job summary

RLMC and AMTH in Lahore seeks an experienced endocrinologist to oversee specialty clinics and manage complex endocrine cases under consultant supervision.

The role includes supervising junior staff, performing advanced procedures, leading emergencies, presenting cases, and contributing to teaching, documentation, and research in alignment with PMDC guidelines.

Applicants must hold MBBS with PMDC registration and a Level III qualification in Endocrinology (FCPS, MD or equivalent).

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered with PMDC.
• PMDC Level III postgraduate qualification in Endocrinology (FCPS in Endocrinology, or MD, or equivalent) approved by SRC and PMDC.
• PMDC registration/licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Specialized Clinical Management: Manage specialty-specific cases with autonomy under consultant supervision.
• Supervision of Junior Staff: Oversee medical officers, house officers, and trainees in patient care activities.
• Advanced Procedures: Perform specialty-related procedures and assist in complex interventions.
• Emergency Response Leadership: Lead emergency response within the department and ensure timely interventions.
• Ward Rounds & Case Presentations: Conduct rounds and present cases with clinical insights.
• Teaching & Training: Participate in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
• Clinical Documentation: Ensure detailed and accurate patient records and case summaries.
• Research & Academic Contribution: Participate in clinical research, audits, and publications as per PMDC requirements.
• Quality Improvement: Contribute to morbidity & mortality meetings and departmental audits.
• Interdepartmental Coordination: Liaise with other departments for referrals and multidisciplinary care.
• Compliance & Ethics: Ensure adherence to PMDC regulations, hospital policies, and ethical standards.
• General Responsibility: Any other task assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Qualification

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered with PM&DC.
• PM&DC Level III postgraduate qualification in Endocrinology, such as:
  • FCPS in Endocrinology, or
  • MD in Endocrinology, or
  • Any other equivalent Level III qualification in the specialty approved by the relevant Specialty Recognition Committee SRC and recognized/registered by PM&DC.

Experience

• Relevant clinical experience/training in Endocrinology will be considered an advantage.
• Candidates must hold valid PM&DC registration/licensure.
