Job summary

RLK in Lahore is seeking an Associate Professor of Pulmonology to provide advanced clinical leadership, teach and mentor faculty, residents, and students, and supervise research in line with PMDC standards.

The role requires PMDC recognition, a Level III postgraduate in Pulmonology (FCPS/MD), and a minimum of five years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor. Permanent appointment with duties across clinical and academic leadership.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered with PM&DC.
• PM&DC-recognized Level III postgraduate qualification in Pulmonology/Respiratory Medicine (FCPS, MD, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Advanced Clinical Leadership: Provide expert clinical care and oversee complex case management.
• Academic Leadership & Teaching: Lead teaching programs and mentor faculty, residents, and students.
• Research Supervision: Supervise research projects, theses, and ensure quality publications as per PMDC standards.
• Curriculum Development: Contribute to curriculum planning, review, and innovation.
• Departmental Oversight: Assist in managing departmental clinical and academic functions.
• Specialized Procedures: Perform and oversee advanced specialty-specific procedures.
• Examinations & Assessments: Serve as examiner and evaluator in professional examinations.
• Quality Assurance & Accreditation: Participate in institutional accreditation and quality assurance processes.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Foster collaboration across departments for patient care and research.
• Policy Implementation: Support implementation of institutional policies and clinical protocols.
• Mentorship & Faculty Development: Guide junior faculty in teaching, research, and clinical work.
• General Responsibility: Any other task assigned by the management.

Job Requirements

Qualification

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered with PM&DC.
• PM&DC-recognized Level III postgraduate qualification in Pulmonology/Respiratory Medicine, such as FCPS, MD, or another equivalent Level III qualification in the relevant specialty approved by the relevant Specialty Recognition Committee SRC and recognized/registered by PM&DC.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in the relevant subject/specialty for appointment as Associate Professor under the PM&DC Teaching Regulations 2025.
• Relevant clinical experience in Pulmonology/Respiratory Medicine in a recognized institution.
