Job summary

Rashid Latif Khan Group in Lahore invites applications for a Dermatology Assistant Professor role. The incumbent will provide high-quality clinical services in OPD, IPD, and emergencies, while delivering lectures and supervising trainees in a teaching hospital setting under PMDC guidelines.

Eligible candidates hold MBBS and PMDC registration; an MD in Dermatology or foreign PMDC-recognized qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered by PMDC.
• Valid and active PMDC Registration as a medical practitioner.
• MD Dermatology recognized by PMDC, or an equivalent foreign postgraduate degree such as American Board of Dermatology, MRCP with Specialty Certificate in Dermatology, or equivalent Level-III qualification recognized by PMDC.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical services in OPD, IPD, and emergency settings.
• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and clinical teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Supervise Senior Registrars, Registrars, and House Officers in clinical and academic activities.
• Conduct research and publish in recognized PMDC/HEC journals as per PMDC criteria.
• Contribute to curriculum delivery and assessment processes.
• Perform and supervise dermatology procedures relevant to the specialty.
• Lead ward rounds and manage patient cases with evidence-based practice.
• Participate in student assessments, examinations, and evaluations.
• Engage in audits, accreditation processes, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in committees and academic/administrative activities.
• Maintain continuous medical education and PMDC compliance.

Job Requirements

Qualification

MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification recognized and registered by PMDC.

Valid and active PMDC Registration as a medical practitioner.

MD Dermatology recognized by PMDC, or

An equivalent foreign postgraduate degree such as American Board of Dermatology, MRCP with Specialty Certificate in Dermatology, or equivalent Level-III qualification recognized by PMDC.

Experience

Teaching / Clinical Experience:

Under PMDC faculty regulations, candidates holding a Level-III qualification FCPS/MD are eligible for direct induction as Assistant Professor, provided they have at least 3 years of teaching/practical experience as a Senior Registrar / Registrar / Demonstrator in a PMDC-recognized teaching hospital/institute before or after acquiring post-graduation.

Note: In many public sector recruitment commissions e.g., PPSC, SPSC, BPSC, fresh FCPS/MD holders can apply for Assistant Professor if they complete 3 years of post-qualification experience as Senior Registrar / Consultant in Dermatology.

Research Publications:

Research publications are not strictly mandatory for initial entry as an Assistant Professor, though published original research in PMDC/HEC-recognized medical journals is given additional credit during selection.
