• Total teaching experience: 8 years, with 3 years as Associate Professor.

Qualification

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, fully recognized and registered with the

PMDC.

PMDC Level III qualification in the respective subject e.g., FCPS/MS/MD, OR other
equivalent Level III qualification in the specialty approved by SRC and
recognized/registered by PMDC. Certificate in Health Professions Education CHPE
is required in accordance with PMDC requirements.

Experience

Three 03 years teaching experience as an Associate Professor in the respective
subject is essential provided that total experience as Assistant Professor and Associate
Professor is not less than eight 08 years.
OR
Nine 09 years teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in the respective subject
is essential.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

• Provide the highest level of clinical expertise and oversight for complex and specialized cases in the department.
• Establish and monitor clinical protocols, standards of care and patient safety benchmarks for the department.
• Lead multidisciplinary clinical decision-making, tumor boards/case conferences and complication reviews.
• Serve as final clinical authority and mentor for all faculty and trainees in the department.

Academic & Teaching Leadership

• Provide strategic direction for undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, teaching methodology and assessment.
• Foster innovation in medical education through curriculum review, simulation-based learning and competency-based education.
• Serve as senior examiner and lead examination boards for undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.
• Mentor and evaluate Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and postgraduate trainees.
• Represent the department in university academic bodies, boards of studies and accreditation reviews.

Research & Scholarly Leadership

• Lead high-impact original research, maintaining the required indexed-journal publication output.
• Lead development of new clinical services and specialty programmes.
• Develop national and international research collaborations and facilitate competitive research funding.
• Ensure research integrity, ethical compliance and plagiarism screening for all departmental publications.

Administrative & Institutional Leadership

• Head the department if designated, overseeing faculty recruitment, workload planning and performance management.
• Ensure departmental compliance with PMDC regulations, accreditation standards and institutional policy.
• Contribute to institutional strategic planning.
• Liaise with hospital administration, university leadership and regulatory bodies on academic and clinical governance matters.
• Maintain mandatory Continuing Professional Development CPD requirements as prescribed by PMDC.
