Job Description:
We are looking for a Seller Acquisition Manager - North to lead on-ground seller identification, engagement, and onboarding across the Punjab region, with a primary focus on Lahore and surrounding commercial hubs. This is a business development role at its core - you will be responsible for building and scaling our seller base by going into the market, understanding seller ecosystems, and bringing high-potential merchants onto the platform.
You will run a team of field associates tasked with sourcing, onboarding, and growing SKUs across categories. Your day-to-day involves being out in the market - visiting wholesale markets, retail clusters, manufacturing zones, and trade events - building relationships with sellers who may be new to e-commerce or currently operating on competing platforms.
Beyond acquisition, you will use data and number-based insights to identify white-space opportunities: which categories are under-indexing, which sellers have the assortment depth to perform well on-platform, and where to deploy your team for maximum impact. You will translate market intelligence into actionable acquisition plans and work cross-functionally with category management, operations, and seller success teams to ensure the sellers you bring on are set up to thrive.
This mid-senior role demands someone who is equally comfortable negotiating with a large wholesale distributor in Shah Alam as they are reviewing acquisition dashboards and pipeline metrics in a Monday morning review.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in business development, field sales, or seller/vendor acquisition - preferably in e-commerce, FMCG distribution, or marketplace platforms. Prior experience managing a field team is strongly preferred.
Market Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of the Punjab market - its commercial geography, key wholesale markets (Shah Alam, Akbari Mandi, Rail Road, etc.), seller communities, and distribution networks. You should know which markets specialize in what and have existing relationships or the ability to build them quickly.
Negotiation & Communication
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to engage sellers at every level - from small traders to large distributors. Fluent in Urdu and English; Punjabi is a significant advantage for building rapport in the field.
Analytical Ability
Comfortable working with data - Excel, dashboards, or internal tools. You should be able to look at category-level GMV data, identify gaps, and make a judgment call on which sellers to pursue. This is not a purely relationship-driven role; you need to think in numbers.
Field Readiness
Willingness and energy to be on the ground - visiting markets, meeting sellers, conducting trade events and activation drives. This role is not desk-bound. Expect 60-70% of your time in the field across Punjab.
Leadership & Team Management
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of field associates. Experience setting targets, tracking KPIs, and driving performance through coaching and accountability.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus but not required - field experience and market knowledge matter more.
