Job summary

Princess Cruises in Manila is seeking a Waiter (Japanese Speaking) to deliver authentic dining experiences aboard our ships. You will apply Service Excellence standards, suggest wine pairings, and ensure seamless service from seating to dessert.

Ideal candidates have hotel/catering education, 2–5 years luxury dining experience, and fluency in English and Japanese. The role offers world travel, competitive salary, and extensive development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Catering / Hotel Management School (Preferred).
• 2–5 years of restaurant service experience on a cruise ship or 5 years of fine dining service from premium restaurants and/or luxury hotels (5 stars).
• Able to adequately explain pricing, food, wine, and cocktail menus to guests.
• Knowledge of fine dining operations and excellent restaurant service.
• Strong communicator with personable social skills to interact with various guest demographics.
• Proficient with POS systems.
• Command of English and Japanese language, both verbal and written.

• Encourages and supports the growth, engagement, and development of the Junior Waiter by providing targeted coaching and training in all aspects of the role.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Graduate of a recognized Catering / Hotel Management School (Preferred).
• Two to five years of restaurant service experience on a cruise ship or in alternative at least 5 years of fine dining service from premium restaurants and/or luxury hotels (5 stars).
• Able to adequately explain pricing, food, wine, and cocktail menus to the guests
• Knowledge of fine dining operations and excellent restaurant service.
• Strong communicator with personable social skills to actively interact with a variety of guest demographics.
• Necessary computer skills and knowledge of P.O.S. systems.
• Command of the English and Japanese language, both verbal and written.
